The rumors and misinformation are flying around the Internet at the speed of… well… the Internet!
So to be clear: NO, Ghislaine Maxwell is not being let out on work release!
How did this rumor get started?
I’ll tell you how.
Someone who is not a lawyer, and who is simply an influencer who runs a podcast network, got something (we don’t know exactly what) from an unnamed person (we don’t know who), and this influencer/podcaster decided that it meant that Maxwell was cleared for work release.
And then she stated it as fact on her podcast website.
There is NOTHING in the legitimate news that says that Maxwell is getting out on work release (just a non-news report on the MSNBC website about the someone getting the something from the other someone). Do you SEE how this works??
In fact, the ONLY legitimate news source that even discusses Ghislaine Maxwell and work release is Newsweek, and here is what they say:
Was Ghislaine Maxwell Cleared to Leave Prison on Work Release?
No, Ghislaine Maxwell has not been cleared for work release. While she has been moved between facilities — most recently from Florida to Texas — these transfers have been for administrative or security reasons, not to grant her work privileges outside prison. Federal inmates serving long sentences for violent or sexual offenses are rarely considered for work release, which typically applies to low-risk offenders nearing the end of their sentences. Maxwell remains in full federal custody and is not authorized to leave prison for employment.
Remember, if you read it on the Internet, and can only find it in social media, and can’t find it on at least a few (definitely more than one) independent, legitimate news sources, treat it with great skepticism, if not derision.
Epstein was given work release. Why not her? Maybe she hasn’t taken it, but her records are full out (or not) to allow her to work off site.
